The Bethlehem Area School District is looking to fill a vacancy in the school board that will open up in December.

Only four people ran for five open seats on the board in the November election as incumbents William Burkhardt, Irene Follweiler and Aurea Ortiz did not seek re-election.

But incumbent Shannon Patrick won two seats—an at-large seat for a four-year term and a two-year term for the Region 2 seat, which serves West Bethlehem, Hanover Township and some of center city.

With Patrick keeping the at-large seat, it is the District 2 seat the board will be looking to fill in the coming weeks.
