Warning: Man Seen Taking Photos of Kids at Clearview Elementary School

Photographer fled after he was spotted by an adult; police plan to increase patrols near school.

For the second time in two days, Bethlehem officials are warning parents about suspicious adult behavior near a school.

On Tuesday afternoon, a man was observed taking pictures of children as they were leaving Clearview Elementary School, which is in the far West Side of the city in Lehigh County, according to an alert on the Bethlehem Area School District Website.

The man was described as being a white, middle-aged male who is balding on top and has gray hair on the sides. He was wearing a dark blue polo shirt.

On Monday, Bethlehem police warned parents that a man driving a white Ford sedan tried to lure a child into his car near Broughal Middle School.

Also, in Easton on Tuesday, a 7-year-old claimed that he managed to get away from a man who tried to grab him as he walked to Paxinosa Elementary School. But Easton Area school officials issued a statement later in the day, which said the threat wasn’t credible.

The Clearview photographer fled after he was spotted by an adult who was out with the children, the alert said. Bethlehem police were notified and are planning to increase patrols in the area, according to the post.

“Please review safety precautions with your children and if you see any suspicious activity please report it immediately to 911,” the post said.
