What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?

Your choices in town include Pauly D at the Sands, restaurant parties downtown and a Talking Heads cover band at the Musikfest Cafe.

Reality TV star Pauly D of “Jersey Shore” fame leads the list of New Year’s Eve party attractions in Bethlehem.

A DJ in his own right, Pauly D will be joined by Shwayze and Hyper Crush for this Sands Bethlehem Event Center show, which will get under way at 8 p.m.

Tickets—at $65 each or four for $150—include 2 drinks per person, and access to Vision Bar, where DJ Cova and DJ Freezie will be spinning pulse-pounding beats all night long.

  • For young families, there is always PeepsFest, the free kid-friendly festival, which this year will star penguins and sled dogs. There will also be live music, the Peep drop and a fireworks spectacular, which will all be done early enough to have the kiddies ready for normal bed time.
  • Godfrey Daniels will host “Three Generations of Homegrown Godfrey’s” at 7 p.m. Club co-founder Dave Fry will get things started with music for kids and families. The show will also feature local favorite Dina Hall and Matt Kay, a dynamic singer-songwriter who is new to the Lehigh Valley music scene. Admission is $5.50 for kids and students and $10.50 for adults. Reservations are recommended.
  • The Twisted Olive, one of Bethlehem’s newest restaurants at 51 W. Broad St., is hosting a party with an open bar, unlimited hors d’oeuvres, music by Ross Brown and the GOT Trio, dancing and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $110 per person and available at the restaurant.
  • The Apollo Grill, 85 W. Broad St., hosts a cocktail dance party at 9 p.m. featuring music by On Fire, an open bar, appetizers, noisemakers, and champagne and dessert at midnight. Tickets are $125 per person and include taxes and gratuity. Call 610-865-9600 for reservations and information.
  • The Musikfest Café will host a New Year’s Eve party with Talking Heads tribute band Start Making Sense, starting at 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 for standing room, $25 for cabaret seating and $99 for the VIP balcony package, which includes hors d’oeuvres, desserts, an open bar and a champagne toast at midnight.
