On the article See a Sample Ballot for Tuesday's Primary

Randy, Thanks for making that important point. The direct link to the GOP without the DEM direct link was not intentional. The story has been updated to include a clearer link to each party's sample ballot.

ReplyThis is another great example of why our local volunteer (and career) first responders truly are heroes. Support your local volunteer fire company. One day they could literally save your life.

ReplyHi Moose, while I can't speak to the float, I can tell you that I had the opportunity to meet and interview the 2012 and 2013 Dogwood Queens. Both are engaging young women who are committed to helping promote Phoenixville and all the great things that are happening here. You are of course entitled to your opinion. Perhaps you were too far back in the crowd to make a personal connection to two young ladies with great personalities and beautiful smiles. Or perhaps you're just a plain jerk.

The "17" refers to the age the defendant in this case thought his alleged victim was under. She is 14, according to police.

ReplyHi Cmurda, Patch Editorial management (the editorial policy makers that I answer to) changed the policy since last year. If you can send us court documents that clearly document the outcome of your case (please include a docket number, the name of the case, the date the case was resolved, the court and the judge in the case) Patch will review the case and if the outcome is verified we will update the story. Please send an email with that information to "phoenixville@patch.com"
Please note that names of suspects and defendants in court filings are a matter of public record and while Patch can review stories that we post, we cannot expunge names from any official public records or other publications.

I think a lot of people share your frustration, Paul. I was a registered independent for much of my career in journalism.. until I moved to PA and wanted to vote in the primaries. I had moved here from a state that has "open" primaries. I have frankly changed my party registration more than once in order to vote in primaries where I felt very strongly about candidates on one side of the aisle or the other. In 2008 I found it very easy to switch and VERY difficult to switch back. I tried three times and finally went to the courthouse (not in Chester County) in person so that my request could not be "lost in the mail" or ignored. In the end it's a disservice to the voters.
