Stalled Car Leads to Domestic Violence Arrest
Allentown man accused of beating and holding his girlfriend against her will. Bethlehem police caught him when his car ran out of gas on Stefko Boulevard.
An Allentown man who is accused of holding a Bethlehem Township woman against her will was caught with his victim when his car ran out of gas on Stefko Boulevard early Friday, according to court papers. Nelson Rios Jr., 29, of 345 N. Fourth St., was allegedly physically and mentally abusive to his victim, his girlfriend, who told Bethlehem police that she tried to get away from him on several occasions. Police became involved at 4:19 a.m. when Officer James Hoffman spotted a silver Honda Accord parked in the road on the 1100 block of Stefko Boulevard. According to the affidavit: Rios was charged with unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned before District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro and …
