The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $250 million after no one matched the winning numbers in Saturday night's drawing. The next drawing in the multi-state lottery -- including Pennsylvania -- will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 21. A standard Powerball wager costs $2, but players can select a "Power Play" option for an additional $1 when purchasing the ticket. Power Play increases the cash prize for any winning combination that isn't a jackpot. The Powerball lottery is played in 42 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The absence of a winner Saturday increased the jackpot by $36 million. A Lehigh Valley man bought a winning $1 million Pa. Lottery ticket in September and a $2 million Powerball ticket was sold at a local …

One Powerball ticket worth $2 million from the Oct. 17 drawing was sold at Wegmans in Hanover Township, Northampton County, the Pensylvania Lottery reported today. The ticket correctly matched all five white balls -- 01-07-10-23-42 -- but not the red Powerball 35, and added Power Play, which sets the prize at $2 million, less 25 percent federal withholding. Wegmans will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling this winning ticket. Lottery officials cannot confirm the identity of the winner until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes. This is the third time in the last three months that a big Pennsylvania Lottery prize has been won in the …
