Shopping Mom Left Her Babies Alone Twice, Police Say

South Bethlehem woman is accused of leaving 2½-year-old and 5-month-old unattended in her unlocked car to go to Giant and Bottom Dollar.

  A South Bethlehem woman who twice left her two small children—a toddler and an infant—alone in her car Friday morning while visiting supermarkets is in prison on charges of endangering the welfare of children, according to court papers. Gilberte Bigirimana, 28, of 719 Aaron St., told police she was only inside of the Stefko Boulevard Bottom Dollar for three minutes while she left her children alone, then produced a register receipt to prove her case, according to a police affidavit. However, the register receipt was from the Giant on W. Union Boulevard that she had visited earlier in the morning, police said. According to the affidavit of probable cause: Bigirimana is facing two counts of endangering the welfare of children. She was …

Cops: Mom Brought Kids to Buy Crack in Bethlehem

Allentown woman had her two children with her as she bought crack cocaine from a 'known drug dealer' in West Bethlehem, city police allege.

  An Allentown woman had her two children with her when she drove to West Bethlehem to get crack cocaine from a drug dealer, city police allege in an arrest warrant executed on Tuesday, more than two years after the alleged buy. Jennifer B. Stewart, 41, of 209 W. Tilghman St., Allentown, was charged with possession of crack cocaine, intentionally purchasing crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of endangering the welfare of children. The alleged crack purchase took place June 11, 2010. It was unclear from the affidavit of probable cause why Stewart was not brought into custody until Tuesday. Police: Slap Nearly Caused Woman to Drop Baby

City man faces child endangerment charges after he allegedly slapped his girlfriend, nearly causing her to drop her baby, police say.

  A day before he was to start a job at an area supermarket, a Bethlehem man slapped his girlfriend in the face while she held their 1-month-old son. The slapping caused her to nearly drop the infant, court records say. It appeared the suspect, Jose Lucas Jr., 25, wouldn’t be able to start the job at a Giant supermarket because he was committed to Northampton County Prison early Friday. The records, in a reference to the job at Giant, say “starting work at Giant on Sat.” Meanwhile, a woman who witnessed the incident on the 1200 block of Randolf Road in Marvine-Pembroke told police she had to grab the baby after the slapping because the girlfriend nearly dropped him.
