Disposable Diapers and the Return to Cloth

Local mom shares financial and environmental reasons for making the switch.

About twelve years ago, when I had my first son, I decided there was no way I was going to use cloth diapers. The idea of washing out a piece of cloth in the toilet, leaving the soiled nappies soaking in a bucket of bleach and loads of laundry was enough. After a recent excursion to the Energy Festival, my eyes were opened by a Schnecksville mother who has started a cloth diaper support group to educate and support mother’s who choose to use cloth.  “I wanted to cloth diaper and I didn’t have anyone to help.
