Northampton County DA John Morganelli is seeking victims of a 'serial rapist'

A Bethlehem man who allegedly blamed his sex addiction for the rape of two teens he met on Facebook may be implicated in three more cases, according to a WFMZ report. Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said this week that David Martinez, 20, may have more victims, based on police interviews with Martinez. Since Morganelli's announcement, at least three girls have come forward. Their claims are being investigated. He asked anyone who thinks they were victimized by Martinez to call Bethlehem Police Det. Moses Miller at 610-997-7674 or the DA's office at 610-559-3020. "We do consider him [Martinez] a person of danger and a serial rapist," Morganelli said in a news conference Wednesday. Fatal Crash Caused By Speed on 378 Ramp, Cops Say

Police have released details of a Jan. 27 crash that killed a Nazareth area man

The crash that killed Joshua Kortze, 24, of the Nazareth area on Jan. 27 happened when he was speeding around a curve on the Route 378 off ramp to get onto Route 22 in Bethlehem, police say. Kotze's 2007 Subaru Impreza began to spin clockwise as he took the curve and he then counter steered, sending the car spinning in the other direction where it went off the road and hit a PennDOT highway sign, according to details of the accident released this week by state police of the Bethlehem barracks. The car then went northeast and hit a concrete median. Kortze was pronouned dead at St. Luke's University Hospital.

Northampton County DA says David Martinez, accused of raping two teens he met on Facebook, may have more victims.

A Bethlehem man who allegedly blamed his sex addiction for the rape of two teens he met on Facebook may have other victims, Northampton County's District Attorney said Wednesday. John Morganelli says police interviews with 20-year-old David Martinez suggest he met and sexually assaulted other girls. As he prepares to prosecute the case, he's hoping to hear from other young women who were targeted by Martinez. "We do consider him a person of danger and a serial rapist," Morganelli told reporters at a news conference at his office. Martinez -- who is in Northampton County Prison on $100,000 bail -- allegedly raped one of the girls last February and the other last September. He raped the girls – one was 14, the other 17 -- on the couch inside…

OMG PD: $1.29 Lemonade Theft Leads to Felony Charge

Bethlehem man accused of stealing $1.29 soft drink at a 7-Eleven, but because of prior retail theft convictions, the charge is considered a felony, according to court papers.

A Bethlehem man is facing a felony charge for allegedly stealing a bottle of lemonade valued at less than $2. In other weird local crime news, a man tried to steal 114 candy bars from a Wawa convenience store.  That's because Frank Rodriguez, 54, has past retail theft convictions, Bethlehem police said in court papers. Rodriguez, of the 1700 block of Markham Drive, was charged Sunday with retail theft after a clerk at the 7-Eleven at 101 E. Broad St. told police she saw him stick a $1.29 bottle of Turkey Hill lemonade into his pocket and walk out of the store. Rodriguez is charged with retail theft and was arraigned before District Judge Richard Yetter in Wilson, who set bail at $5,000.
