Broughal School Nominated for National Award

SouthSide Middle School nominated by state for Department of Education Green Ribbon Award for increasing environmental and sustainability literacy.

  Broughal Middle School has been nominated for a national environmental award by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The U.S. Department of Education’s Green Ribbon Schools Program recognizes schools that have made significant achievement toward increased environmental and sustainability literacy, reducing the school’s environmental footprint, and creating a healthy community for students and staff. After a review by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Secretary Ron Tomalis nominated Broughal as one of four schools in Pennsylvania demonstrating progress and achievement in three key areas: Broughal Principal Edward Docalovich, along with teachers Laura Keding and Karen Wilmore, submitted a detailed application that included …
