Harry Connick Jr. Show "The Happy Elf" Opens in Bethlehem

A holiday show based on a song by Harry Connick Jr. is being produced by Pennsylvania Youth Theater

A holiday show by jazz great Harry Connick Jr. -- "The Happy Elf" -- opened Friday as a Pennsylvania Youth Theater production at the Ice House in Bethlehem. The show is based on a Connick song that became an animated special for NBC.  The show runs through December 16. After its run at the Ice House, it's set to be preformed across the country, according to a WFMZ report. About the show: Eubie in the happiest elf at the North Pole. Harry Connick Jr. Appearing at Moravian Book Shop

Singer, actor, musician will be signing copies of his new book and DVD at the Moravian Book Shop from 2 to 4 p.m.

  Actor/singer/musician extraordinaire Harry Connick Jr. will be making a special appearance this afternoon at the Moravian Book Shop to sign copies of his new book and DVD, The Happy Elf. Connick has been working behind the scenes with the Pennsylvania Youth Theatre in a stage production of The Happy Elf, which will open Saturday at the Charles A. Brown Ice House on Sand Island. First produced as an animated-3D television special, the show is based on a song of the same name, which Connick wrote for his 2003 album, Harry for the Holidays. Connick has added some new songs and arrangements for the PYT production. Multi-talented artist Connick sits down with local media to talk about working with the Pennsylvania Youth Theatre on its next musical.

  Anyone who is familiar with Harry Connick Jr. knows he is a multi-talented man – singer, jazz pianist, composer, conductor/big band leader, actor of stage and screen – both big and small. Thanks now to a new job he has taken on with Bethlehem’s Pennsylvania Youth Theatre, there is one more title you can add to that impressive resume: teacher/mentor. Harry Connick Jr. to Work with Pa. Youth Theatre

Actor and singer Harry Connick Jr. is coming to Bethlehem next week to work with the Pennsylvania Youth Theatre.

Actor and crooner Harry Connick Jr. will be in Bethlehem Monday, Sept. 24 to work with the Pennsylvania Youth Theatre on its upcoming production of "The Happy Elf," which starts Nov. 30. The holiday musical was adapted from the original song by Connick that was later turned into a 3D-animated family television special. The script is by Lauren Gunderson and Andrew Fishman and the music and lyrics are by Connick, a Grammy Award winner. The musical is about Eubie, one of Santa's elves who is charged with checking the "naughty and nice" list. One Christmas Eve he finds that not a single person in the town of Bluesville is on the Nice list and he heads there to turn the kids nice in time for Christmas.   The Happy Elf will run from Nov. 30 to …
