Slots Machine Revenue Declined in February

Every Pennsylvania casino, including Sands, brought in less slots revenue than a year ago. Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board blames leap year for 9 percent drop.

  Slots machine revenue at Pennsylvania casinos declined by more than 9 percent in February as compared to a year ago, the state Gaming Control Board reported on Monday. The board blamed the 28-day month for part of the decline. As 2012 was a leap year, February had 29 days a year ago. The Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem posted a 7-percent drop in gross slots machine revenue as opposed to a year ago, pulling in a little more than $23.5 million, a drop of $1.8 million. Statewide, gross revenue from slots was $195.9 million, a drop of nearly $20 million from 2012. Tax revenue from slots play statewide was $105.1 million, the board reported. Slots Revenues up at Sands and Across State

Slots machine play at Sands brought $25.3 million in revenue in February

  Slots machine revenue at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem was up 17 percent in February from a year ago, according to figures released last week by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. The Bethlehem casino earned $25.3 million in revenue from slots play alone during the month, a $3.6 million increase over 2011. Statewide, slots gaming revenues increased by 9 percent to $215.7 million at the state’s 10 casinos. From that, the tax revenue generated was $117 million, or about $4 million a day.

Slots Play at Sands Goes Up in January

Sands' slots grossed 22.5 million; parent company touts positive 2011.

  Revenue from slots machine play at the Sands Bethlehem Casino increased by 13.6 percent this January over January 2011, according to figures released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Thursday. Slots at the Sands Bethlehem grossed $22.5 million last month, a significant increase over the $19.8 million earned in January 2011. The Sands had the second biggest increase in slots revenue in the state, following the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, which saw its revenue go up more than 50 percent over a year earlier. The Parx Casino in Bensalem was the top slots machine earner in the state with $31.6 million in earnings. The Sands was second. I'm not being narrow minded. I said I would be interested in the actual demographics, as in I would like to know the ACTUAL TRUTH to see if my guess is correct. That is not narrow minded, just a search for facts. My opinion is, If people are being supported by food stamps or Welfare or even unemployment then they have no business wasting their money at a casino.   more ›
