Bethlehem police called to South Bethlehem home to intervene in fight between sisters Friday morning, court papers say.
A woman from West Bethlehem is accused of using her sport utility vehicle to pin her sister against the outside wall of her South Bethlehem house Friday morning, according to court records. Penny Polochak, 20, of 1765 Round St., also allegedly slapped and punched her sister, Jennie Terrick, in the face several times, police said. It is unclear from the arrest affidavit what had prompted the sibling brawl, but Bethlehem police were called to 519 Jackson St., Terrick’s home, at about 9 a.m. to intervene. Terrick complained of pain in her legs as a result of the pinning, which was done with a maroon 2014 Honda CRV, the arrest affidavit said. At SouthSide boarding house, woman accused girl of stealing her daughter's coats, then allegedly hit her in the face with a metal clothes hanger, police say.
A 55-year-old woman is accused of hitting an 11-year-old girl with a metal clothes hanger Thursday at a South Bethlehem rooming house where they both live, according to court papers. Donna E. Hicks of 614 E. Atlantic St. was charged with simple assault and harassment in the attack, which, according to the warrant, raised a welt above the girl’s right eye. The victim was not her daughter, but reportedly the daughter of eyewitness Kelly Grim, who reported the attack to police. Grim told police that when she and her two daughters arrived at the home shortly after 3 p.m., Hicks started yelling at them, accusing them of stealing her daughter’s coats and calling them derogatory names. A Bethlehem man was jailed Tuesday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and her 10 year old son. City police charged Marcos Rodriguez, 32, of 423 Atlantic St., with simple assault and harassment. According to court papers, the girlfriend said she was assaulted by Rodriguez on multiple occasions. She said he punched her in the face several times on Saturday, and also hit in the eye with lighter. On Monday, while she as at Lehigh Pizza, 13 W. Third St., Rodriguez allegedly slapped the woman and threw a punch at her. That punch missed, and hit her son. Rodriguez was arraigned before on duty District Judge Richard Yetter in Wilson, and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.

A Lehigh Univeristy student kicked a woman with whom he is “currently in a romantic relationship” several times in the abdomen, requiring her to be taken to a hospital for treatment, court records say. The incident involving the suspect, Yaobin Dong, 23, allegedly occurred about 10 Tuesday night in the Hobby Lobby parking lot in the Northampton Crossings shopping center. The woman was unable to stand because of the kicking, the records say. The hospital to which she was taken is not identified. The shopping center is in Lower Nazareth Township, so Colonial Regional Police are handling. UPDATED: 10:40 p.m. Bethlehem Health Director Judith Maloney was charged with simple assault and suspended from her job after allegedly hitting her boyfriend in the head with a glass candle holder at their home Thursday night, Bethlehem police said. The alleged assault was apparently the result of an argument over Maloney failing to let the couple's dog outside, according to The Express Times, which cited court papers. Michael Correll, Maloney’s boyfriend, suffered a cut to the top of his head, which required three staples to close at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg, the newspaper reported. A Bethlehem Township man attacked his wife Tuesday after "babbling about demons," township police said. Jose Apolinario, 41, of the 1400 block of Quarry Road, was charged Tuesday evening with simple assault and harassment. According to the criminal complaint, Apolinario had spent the afternoon drinking with his co-workers. His wife was in the bathroom of their home when Apolinario "entered the bathroom babbling about demons," and grabbed her by the hair and face. Apolinario was arraigned before on duty District Judge Gay Elwell in Easton, and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Lock Haven man charged with domestic violence simple assault after incident at Sands.
Bethlehem police found a disheveled room with blood soaked sheets, towels and rags when they responded to a report of a woman screaming in the Sands Bethlehem Hotel early Monday morning. They also found a woman who had apparently been beaten and a boyfriend who claimed she had beaten him because he lost $800 gambling, according to court records.
