'Slime' Wanted for Fatal Shooting Outside Strip Club, Authorities Say

Detectives say man known as 'Slime' gunned down Tyree Wimberly on Club Avenue in January.

Police and the Lehigh County District Attorney believe they know who shot and killed Tyree Wimberly in the early morning of Jan. 26 as he walked past a strip club on the border between Bethlehem and Allentown. On Wednesday, District Attorney Jim Martin announced that an arrest warrant has been obtained for Ulysses Rodriguez, a 20-year-old man whose last known address was 937 Walnut St. in Allentown. District Judge Wayne Maura issued the arrest warrant on Tuesday, the DA said. The Bethlehem Police Department and the DA’s Homicide Task Force are asking for the public’s help in finding Rodriguez, whose street name is “Slime,” according to a DA news release. WANTED: Suspects in Marvine-Pembroke Shooting

2 men fired several bullets into victim on 1400 block of Marvine Street on Monday, police say. They should be considered armed and dangerous.

  Bethlehem police say they have obtained arrest warrants for two suspects in the Monday evening shooting of a man in the city’s Marvine-Pembroke neighborhood. Angelo Lopez is 38, about 5-foot-8 and weighs about 260 pounds, police said. Dan David Hernandez is 28, is also about 5-foot-8 and weighs about 160 pounds. Police are distributing photographs of both of the suspects, who should be considered armed and dangerous. Man Shot in Legs in Bethlehem

City police say two men armed with handguns shot another man early Sunday.

Bethlehem police say a city man was shot in both legs early Sunday by two men. According to police, the shooting happened at a home on the 1500 block of Irene Street, where two men, armed with handguns, shot a third man during a confrontation. The man, who is around 30 years old, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for treatment. Police said his injuries didn't appear to be life threatening. A woman who was home at the time of the shooting was not injured. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 610-865-7187

A Bethlehem man was shot and seriously injured at the Comfort Inn in Bethlehem Township, police say.

A Bethlehem man who was staying at the Comfort Inn on Highfield Drive in Bethlehem Township was shot Wednesday evening and the two assailants fled. Manuel Rodriguez-Valcarcel, 30, of 756 Dellwood St. in Bethlehem was hit at least once --in the leg -- but might also have been hit in the stomach, according to Bethlehem Township Sgt. Rick Blake. He was transported by ambulance to St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill, where he was in serious condition, Blake said. The report of the shooting came in at 6:19 p.m. Both assailants had guns and multiple shots were fired at Rodriguez-Valcarcel in a hotel hallway near the lobby, Blake said. City Man Gets 2½-Year Minimum for for Melee

Joesyan Miranda was at the scene when 2 were shot in Marvine-Pembroke in March, but DA cannot prove he was part of conspiracy to kill.

  A Bethlehem man who was accused of playing a role in a March incident in which two people, including a woman six months pregnant, were shot, was sentenced to 2½ to nine years in prison, according to published reports. Charges of conspiracy to commit homicide and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault were dropped against Joesyan Miranda, 23, of 375 Hamilton Ave. The Northampton County District Attorney did not have enough evidence to make those charges stick, according to The Express Times. Nonetheless, Miranda did plead guilty to aggravated assault for pulling out a box cutter during a March 20 melee in the city’s Marvine-Pembroke section. Philadelphia Sikh Society Reacts to Wisconsin Shooting

After a deadly shooting at a Wisconsin Sikh Temple Sunday morning, the greater Philadelphia Sikh community calls for more gun control and cultural understanding.

This weekend, over 2,000 members of the Sikh community from the Philadelphia area and beyond came to Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill to participate in the Philadelphia Sikh Society’s (PSS) 12th annual Sikh Games of Philadelphia. According to Narinder Singh, secretary of the PSS, which is located in Millbourne, Delaware County, the festive two-day event draws members of the Sikh community from as far away as New York and Maryland. The Aug. 5 event at Bonner had participants of all ages playing volleyball, soccer, wrestling, races and the traditional "Kabbaddee," a tag-game similar to Jailbreak. President Obama, Mitt Romney Remember Victims of Aurora Shooting

"They had hopes for the future and dreams that were not yet fulfilled, and if there’s anything to take away from this tragedy, it’s a reminder that life is fragile."

President Barack Obama dedicated his weekly address to remembering the tragedy of the shooting in Aurora, Colo., at a midnight showing of the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises." "While we will never know fully what causes someone to take the life of another, we do know what makes that life worth living," Obama said. See our video above for the president's full remarks.   Presidential candidate Mitt Romney also issued a statement in response to the incident. Man Shot at E. Fourth and Hayes Streets

Shooting victim may have been a robber who shot himself.

  A man was shot – perhaps by himself – at E. Fourth and Hayes streets in South Bethlehem this morning, according to a Breaking News Network alert. The shooting may have come during a robbery and after Bethlehem police responded to the scene. No officers were injured, according to The Express Times. The man was seen running in the street carrying a high-powered rifle, the newspaper reported. The condition of the shot person is not immediately clear. The newspaper also reported that Hayes Street was closed between E. Third and E. Fifth streets and E. Fourth Street is closed Atlantic and State streets. Check back later for updates.

SouthSide Man Accused of Helping Shooter Hide

Rivera charged with hindering apprehension after he drove alleged shooter from Marvine-Pembroke and put him up in hotel room.

  A SouthSide man accused of driving the getaway car for and helping to hide two men accused in a shooting of a man and pregnant woman in the Marvine-Pembroke section of the city has been charged with two felony counts of hindering apprehension, according to court records. Santiago Rivera, 19, of 1850 Sixth St., Bethlehem, allegedly drove Robinson “Moyo” Torres and Joesyan Miranda from the neighborhood after Torres allegedly fired shots at a home at 1203 Randolf Road on March 20. The man and woman, who was six months pregnant, were injured. According to the affidavit of probable cause, Rivera admitted to Bethlehem police that he picked up Torres at a park near the scene of the shooting and drove him from the area.
