Pa. SPCA Rescues 28 German Shepherds From 'Filthy' Conditions

The Pennsylvania SPCA needs donations and homes for 28 German shepherds rescued from 'filthy' conditions.

The Pennsylvania SPCA is seeking new homes for 28 German shepherds recently rescued from "their life of filth and neglect." The dogs included a puppy and a pregnant female. Some of the dogs were emaciated and so frail they had to be carried to safety. The agency's Humane Law Enforcement team obtained a search warrant in Marcus Hook, Delaware County, last Friday to investigate complaints about conditions at a property being used by Sixth Angel Shepherd Rescue Inc.  The SPCA says: "Instead of providing care for animals in need, the "rescue" became a nightmare for the animals living inside according to the official complaints. TIBBS Tibbs is a gorgeous kitty who is in need of a loving home. He is up to date on shots, neutered, microchipped and ready for a forever family. LAVENDER Lavender is a beautiful pit bull terrier mix (possibly with lab). Pa. Pups Promote 'Puppy Bowl IX' in NYC

7 puppies from the Pennsylvania SPCA have been invited to promote Animal Planet's 'Puppy Bowl IX' in New York City this week.

The Pennsylvania SPCA and seven cute puppies in its care have been invited to New York City to promote "Puppy Bowl IX," Animal Planet's furry festival coming up on Super Bowl Sunday.  They'll be in the Big Apple on Jan. 30, 31 and Feb. 1 to promote the show on "Good Morning America" and other media outlets. Follow the adventure on Facebook and Twitter that highlight the importance of adopting animals from shelters while promoting Puppy Bowl IX.     Pennsylvania puppies will be appearing on the following: Wednesday, Jan. 30 Thursday, Jan. 31 Friday, Feb. 1 The Puppy Bowl airs on Animal Planet on Sunday, Feb. 3 from 3 to 5 p.m.  Click here to see photos of the Puppy Bowl starting lineup.

ACHILLES Achilles is a handsome, big-headed hunk of American pit bull terrier. He is new to the shelter, but is quickly becoming a favorite among those who meet him. He has decent leash manners, knows some basic commands, and loves to run and play in the yard. JOSELYN Joselyn is a gorgeous young adult gal looking for a forever home. She is up to date on shots, spayed, social, microchipped and ready for a home for the holidays! KING King is a young, red-nosed and handsome little imp. He is quite mischievous and high energy, but he's still a pup who's looking to learn the ropes. A hound/pit bull terrier mix, King is as affectionate as they come. Nothing makes him happier than being around people, and he would love a family of his own to love him. MEISTER Meister is very friendly. In her photo, she is all dressed up and ready for her new family to notice her. She is just gorgeous, friendly and eager for a new home. She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped and ready to go. BULBASAUR Bulbasaur, an adult Lhasa apso, was abandoned. He was left tied to the bench at the center's front door overnight. When he was found he was dirty and his hair was matted, but he has had a grooming, looks great, likes other dogs and needs a home. He is neutered and looking for a caring forever home.
