Fans of Batman and summer blockbusters can still see "The Dark Knight Rises" at theaters across the Lehigh Valley despite a mass shooting at a midnight showing of the movie near Denver. A 24-year-old gunman killed 12 and wounded 59 early Friday in the Denver suburb of Aurora, Colo. Locally, shows are continuing as originally scheduled, albeit under tighter security in at least one case. Rave Theater at Promenade, Center Valley Staff at the Rave Theater complex, the Valley's only IMAX theater, will search bags and backpacks before patrons enter the ticketing area. Employees at Rave Cinemas at the Promenade in Center Valley will check bags and backpacks of moviegoers before they enter the ticketing area as a precaution following a mass shooting at a movie theater near Denver. But a Patch reader posted a comment Friday afternoon saying she went to the movie Friday and nobody was checking bags. People cannot enter the theater from outside the building via emergency exits, a Rave manager told Patch Friday morning. The emergency exits do not have exterior door handles.
