Pedestrian Hit by NCC Student's Car, Police Say

18-year-old driver told Bethlehem Township police she thought only the victim's purse had hit her side-view mirror.

  A Northampton Community College student is facing charges as a result of a November vehicle accident in which she struck a pedestrian – a fellow student – on a college crosswalk, according to court papers. Lindsey Janae Kizer, 18, of 4459 Oakwood Lane in Lower Nazareth Township was charged with accidents involving death or personal injury, failing to yield the right of way to pedestrians in a crosswalk, failing to render aid and failing to immediately notify police of an accident. The victim was not seriously hurt, suffering a sprained ankle when the car hit her left leg. Kizer was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Joseph Barner, Lower Nazareth Township, and released on $2,000 unsecured bail. The pedestrian was crossing Green Pond…

Teenage Boy Hurt in Hit-and-Run on Maple Street

Driver of white mini-van with cracked windshield from hitting teenage pedestrian fled the scene, Bethlehem police say.

  A pedestrian was struck by a white mini-van in the 700 block of Maple Street just east of center city Bethlehem at a little after 10 Wednesday night, police said. The driver fled the scene of the crash in the mini-van, which reportedly had a crack in the windshield as a result of the collision, police said. Police provided no information on the pedestrian. However, The Morning Call reported that police radio reports indicated that the victim was a 14-year-old boy who was taken to St. Luke's University Hospital. Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the mini-van and the driver. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Bethlehem Police Department at 610-865-7187.

96-Year-Old Bethlehem Man Hit by Car, Dies

Joseph Dabrowski, a carpenter who lived on Main Street, survived capture by Germans during World War II.

  A 96-year-old Bethlehem man died of multiple injuries after he was struck by a motor vehicle on Main Street Wednesday night, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s office. Joseph Dabrowski, who lived in the senior citizens high-rise apartments at 645 Main St., was hit at the intersection of Main and Raspberry streets a little before 8 p.m., the coroner said. He was pronounced dead a half-hour later at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill. Dabrowski was a carpenter who emigrated from Poland after World War II, according to The Express-Times. He survived capture by Germans during the war while he fought for his native country. Bethlehem Police are investigating the incident.
