Snow is the forecast again and we could get a few inches on Saturday.
So far this week, we had a white Christmas and a post-Christmas snow and ice storm that led to a tragic accident on Interstate 78. While today will be sunny, snow is in the forecast again with a few inches or more expected Saturday. The National Weather Service says hazardous travel should develop for much of eastern Pennsylvania Saturday morning as snow begins falling around daybreak or shortly after that. Snowfall could range from 2 to 5 inches ending in the afternoon or evening. Daytime temperatures will hover in the low to mid 30s. Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high of 34.

Here are two highlights from the annual Winter Outlook from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration: The winter outlook offers no clear trend for Pennsylvania or the Northeast. Forecasters with NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center say a wavering El Niño, expected to have developed by now, makes this year’s winter outlook less certain than previous years. “This is one of the most challenging outlooks we’ve produced in recent years because El Niño decided not to show up as expected,” said Mike Halpert, deputy director of NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center. “In fact, it stalled out last month, leaving neutral conditions in place in the tropical Pacific.” When El Niño is present, warmer ocean water in the equatorial Pacific shifts the …
