Peter Frampton's Guitar Circus Coming to Musikfest

Guitar legends Peter Frampton, B.B. King and Sonny Landreth will headline Musikfest on Aug. 5. Tickets on sale next week.

  Legendary guitarist Peter Frampton, blues icon B.B. King and Sonny Landreth will share the stage when Frampton’s Guitar Circus rolls into Musikfest Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. Tickets for the show, which will take place at the festival’s Sands Steel Stage, are $39 and $54 and go on sale Tuesday, March 12, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and Friday, March 15, 10 a.m., to the public. Ke$ha to Headline at Musikfest Aug. 10

Tickets for chart-topping pop and dance music sensation Ke$ha go on sale Tuesday for ArtsQuest members, March 15 for the public.

  Chart-topping superstar Ke$ha will take the Sands Steel Stage at Musikfest when she headlines the festival Saturday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $44 and $59 and go on sale Tuesday, March 12, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and Friday, March 15, 10 a.m., to the public. Musikfest Poster, 30th Year Plans Revealed

Renowned singer-songwriter John Gorka, who played first notes at first Musikfest in 1984, will return for this year's opening ceremony.

  ArtsQuest unveiled its Musikfest 2013 poster and a new festival logo on Tuesday, while making several more announcements about its plans for the 30th annual August music festival. Created by ArtsQuest graphic designer David Blank, the poster brings to life many of the most popular elements of Musikfest, including the festival’s live music, dancing and iconic performance tents. It also features prominent local landmarks such as Central Moravian Church, Historic Hotel Bethlehem and the former Bethlehem Steel blast furnaces at SteelStacks. “By using blue, orange and golden hues prominently in the work, it gives the poster an outward glow, something that’s meant to highlight that magical time at Musikfest when the sun is setting and all of …

Carly Rae Jepsen to Kick Off Musikfest

Pop star and Grammy nominee Carly Rae Jepsen will headline at Musikfest's 30th Anniversary celebration Aug. 2.

Grammy nominee Carly Rae Jepsen, whose hit "Call Me Maybe" sold more than 10 million singles worldwide, will kick off Musikfest’s 30th Anniversary celebration with a performance at the festival’s Sands Steel Stage at PNC Plaza Friday, Aug. 2, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $29 and $39 and go on sale Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. to ArtsQuest Members, and on Friday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. to the public. Family campout at the Wildlands Conservancy in June, with a few families from my daughter's kindergarten class. We stayed in tents (provided), had a moonlit hike that was capped with a bonfire and s'mores. The girls had a blast.   more ›

Musikfest Now Has an App for iPhone, iPad

New Musikfest App will provide performance schedules, an interactive festival map and festival updates in real time, ArtsQuest says.

  The Musikfest App for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch will make its debut for the 2012 festival, ArtsQuest announced on Monday. The App, now available from the Apple App Store, was developed through a partnership between Trifecta Technologies of Allentown and ArtsQuest, according to a news release from the nonprofit arts organization. Among the many features included in the app are: “Our patrons have been demanding that we have a Musikfest app,” ArtsQuest Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations Curt Mosel said through the release. “We didn’t want to create an app until we were confident we could have a really good product, and now we have a great one. “We believe the features and functionality of this app will make it extremely easy…

Main Street Reconstruction Schedule Revised

Reconstruction of sidewalks at Main and Market will continue through July 26 and be suspended until after Musikfest concludes.

  The first three phases of a five-phase project to rebuild the street and sidewalks around Main and Market streets in Historic Downtown Bethlehem are expected to be finished by July 26, a full week ahead of the start of Musikfest, according to a city engineer. On that day, work crews are expected to remove construction signs, equipment and clean the site, giving the city a full week to prepare for Musikfest’s opening night on August 3. Kiel Fortner, a city section engineer, sent an updated construction schedule to Downtown Bethlehem Association members early this week.
