Mother's Day in Bethlehem: Flowers, Brunch at SteelStacks This Weekend

Bethlehem Garden Club presents a flower and gardening show, while Musikfest Cafe offers a special brunch menu on Sunday.

  The ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks celebrates spring and Mom this weekend with a flower show and a special Mother’s Day brunch at the Musikfest Café on Sunday. Among the menu options from which to choose are challah French toast, smoked salmon, cheese tortellini, herb-roasted turkey and roast beef. The menu also includes a variety of appetizers and desserts. Seating reservations—which must be made in advance—were limited but still available as of Thursday afternoon. Fight Night at SteelStacks Coming to Musikfest Cafe

ArtsQuest and a boxing promoter schedule a 7-fight card and a chance to meet Larry Holmes and one of the champ's former opponents.

  Professional boxing is coming to the Musikfest Café. ArtsQuest announced Wednesday that it will host the first Fight Night at SteelStacks on Thursday, June 6 at 7 p.m. The night’s main event will have the grandson of Easton’s own former heavyweight champion, Larry Holmes—Jeffrey Dorsey Holmes—stepping into the ring against fellow Eastonian Marquis Pierce. The champ will also be on hand for the proceedings along with onetime nemesis Gerry Cooney, who lost to Holmes in a much-ballyhooed 13-round title fight in 1982. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $100 each and include a photograph and autograph session with Holmes and Cooney prior to the event, as well as a dinner buffet and a private area in the Café’s balcony to watch …

Eat, Drink & Laugh at 'Finnegan's Farewell'

Enjoy an interactive musical Irish wake called 'Finnegan's Farewell' at the Musikfest Cafe through Sunday.

An interactive musical comedy called "Finnegan's Farewell" is playing through Sunday at Bethlehem's Musikfest Cafe. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $55 to $65. SteelStacks to Host High School Jazz Band Showcase

Bands from Freedom High School and Lehigh Valley Performing Arts High to participate for a chance to open for legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band during RiverJazz festival.

  The jazz bands from Freedom High School and the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts are two of six finalists picked to participate in the SteelStacks High School Jazz Band Showcase. The winner of the competition will be the opening act for the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band, which will perform on May 9 at the Musikfest Café for the RiverJazz Festival. The final competition has been scheduled for 4 p.m., Sunday, March 17, also at the Musikfest Café. Each band will perform a 20-minute set before a live audience and the judges. The Temptations are Coming to Musikfest Cafe

18-time Grammy winner Chick Corea and the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band are the first two acts announced for RiverJazz festival at SteelStacks.

  Eighteen-time Grammy Award winner Chick Corea and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band are the first two acts announced for the 2013 RiverJazz presented by Concannon Miller, May 9-24 at SteelStacks in Bethlehem. Tickets for the concerts, which will take place at the ArtsQuest Center’s Musikfest Café, will go on sale starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday to ArtsQuest members and 10 a.m. Friday to the public.     American Idol winner Clay Aiken, Parliament-Funkadelic’s Bootsy Collins and indie rockers The Hold Steady are among the new performers announced to come to the Musikfest Café in the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks.
