Citing increasing demands on her business, Meg Holland will step down at the end of the month.
City Controller Meg Holland will resign from her post at the end of the month, she announced this morning, citing increasing demands in her private accounting practice, according to media reports. Deputy Controller Eugene Auman will serve as interim controller until City Council can appoint a permanent replacement, according to The Express-Times. An election will be held in the spring to fill the rest of Holland’s term, which expires at the end of 2013. A Republican and the first woman controller in Bethlehem history, Holland was first elected in 2007 to fill the remainder of the term of longtime controller Wallace DeCrosta, who died in office. She was then re-elected in 2009.
