Police: Rite Aid Clerk Used Customer's Credit Cards

Store employee accused of taking wallet off of counter and using a debit and credit card to spend more than $1,300.

  An employee of the Rite Aid drug store in South Bethlehem is accused of taking credit cards from a wallet left on a store counter and using them to make more than $1,300 in purchases over the next three days, according to court papers. Genesis Lee Rodriguez, 21, of 929 Sullivan St., Bethlehem, is facing three felony counts, including forgery, for allegedly signing the name of her victim, Lehigh University student Rujun Wang, court records say. According to the arrest warrant, the events unfolded like this: Wang discovered multiple unauthorized charges to his debit card and a credit card on Aug. 30 and reported those discrepancies to Lehigh University Police. Lehigh Students Held Up at Gunpoint

University and city police looking for four assailants who held up students after 2 a.m. today.

  Two Lehigh University students were held up at gunpoint on the 600 block of W. Fifth Street early this morning, according to a safety bulletin from university police. Neither student was harmed nor did they lose any property in the stickup, which took place at 2:20 a.m., according to Lehigh Police Chief Ed Shupp. The assailants fled the scene. Lehigh police and the Bethlehem Police Department are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bethlehem Police Department at 610-865-7187 or the Lehigh University Police Department at 610-758-4200.

Lehigh Officers Spot Domestic in Progress

During traffic stop in SouthSide, police spot a man knock his girlfriend to the ground. East Allentown man arrested.

  The man and woman had been arguing all night inside a bar and continued arguing while walking to their car around 2am Wednesday in the area of Brodhead Avenue and W. Morton Street in SouthSide. That’s when they got the attention of Lehigh University police officers, who were on a traffic stop, according to court records. One of the officers saw the woman fall to the ground and the man run from her south on Brodhead. The officers found the man – Aaron C. Rivera, 28, of East Allentown -- hiding behind a Dumpster in the surrounding area. Then they notified Bethlehem police. The woman, by this time standing with one of the Lehigh officers, said Rivera “beats her” and is going to “kill her when he gets home,” the records say. Later, she told …
