Vote for Pa.'s Finalists in Deck the House Contest

Patch has 24 finalists including two from eastern Pennsylvania in its Deck the House holiday lights contest

We had more than 400 national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest  and we love showcasing everyone’s holiday spirit. Visit this page to browse a gallery of the finalists and cast your vote. The 24 national finalists include two eastern Pennsylvania homes - one in Hatboro-Horsham Patch and one in Upper Moreland-Willow Grove Patch. On Dec. 29, we’ll announce the grand prize winner of our Deck the House contest. So now’s your chance to tell us who has the best “decked” house in the country. The champion will win $100,000 for their local school district.

You want to capture those lights on your camera, but getting those lights to look right in your pictures can be more of a challenge than you bargained for. Professional photographers have lot of experience and cameras with all sorts of settings that most of us wouldn’t know what to do with. Vote for Local Finalist in Holiday Lights Contest

Your vote can help Salisbury School District win $100,000

A Lehigh Valley home is one of 24 national finalists in the Patch "Deck the House" contest. Wayne and Alayne Renninger have been decorating their house for Christmas in a big way for more than 30 years. If one inflatable Santa is good, 10 are better. They're house broadcasts "Merry Christmas" in large white lights. Seeing their house on South Fairview Road in Salisbury Township all decked out in lights and hearing the appreciative comments from passersby was always its own reward. But that changed Friday when the Renningers found out their house was selected to be among two dozen finalists out of hundreds of entries in Patch's national Deck the House Contest. Rebate Offered for LED Light Strands

Electric utility offers a $3.33 rebate for each string of LED Energy Star-rated decorative lights purchased.

If you bought new LED holiday lights for your home or your tree and you are a First Energy customer, you may be eligible for a surprise gift in the form of a rebate, in addition to the money you'll save on your electric bill. MetEd, Pennelec and Penn Power customers can receive $3.33 per qualifying Energy Star strand of LED lights they've purchased, up to six strands. Lights purchased between October 28, 2009 through May 31, 2013 are eligible. The rebate application must include a valid customer account number, brand, purchase price, and store name, and the lights must be for use at the service address on customer’s account. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to win a $100,000 gift to the Bethlehem Area Public Schools. Patch.com is launching a nationwide contest to find the best dressed home in its Patch communities, and the winner’s school district will receive $100,000, no strings attached.
