New Hill-to-Hill Bridge Ramp to Open Today
Traffic pattern will change slightly, but construction continues.
A new ramp that connects Third Street to the Hill-to-Hill Bridge in South Bethlehem will open to traffic this morning, PennDOT officials said. But the construction around the southern end of the bridge, which has been ongoing for well over a year, is by no means over. Motorists who use the bridge to connect to Third Street will find slight changes to the driving patterns. The left turn from the bridge to the exit ramp will come up sooner than previously. The ramp from South Bethlehem can now be entered from Brodhead Avenue instead of Third Street. Work crews will now begin to dismantle the old bridge, according to a release issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation on Thursday. Motorists might experience sporadic restriction…
