Traffic on Broadway through part of Fountain Hill is expected to be restricted to one lane until the early evening hours as UGI crews work to repair a gas line leak, PennDOT officials said. The leak was first spotted late this morning and Broadway was closed between Delaware and Dodson avenues at 11 a.m. One lane of traffic was restored this afternoon with flaggers controlling the flow in either direction, according to a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation news release. Broadway was expected to be reopened fully sometime this evening.

Bethlehem police say UGI crews are on scene to fix a gas line and that there's no leak hazard
Bethlehem police now say UGI crews are on the scene in the 1800 block of Richmond Street and that there's no gas leak danger. The street is closed to accommodate equipment. The gas line affected is small and there was no need for evacuations as indicated earlier, according to the police Twitter feed. Police say this is a small gas line. The restricted area is between W. Union Boulevard and W. Broad Street. In January, a gas leak in the 2100 block of Princeton Avenue overnight prompted officials to evacuate 23 people in 11 homes. There were no injuries.

Eleven students and one adult have been discharged from Lehigh Valley Hospital after falling ill during Mass Wednesday morning at Assumption BVM Church in the Colesville section of Upper Saucon Township, according to a WFMZ report. The students were fifth-graders at St. Michael the Archangel Middle School, which enrolls pupils from throughout Lehigh County. It's still not known exactly what made them ill, although high heat and humidity could be to blame. Officials originally feared a gas leak may have caused the students and adult to feel dizzy and nauseous after going from the school to the church. No unusual levels of natural gas were detected. Five students fainted. Everyone taken to the hospital as a precaution was released later in …

Eleven St. Michael students and one adult were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Wednesday morning.
Eleven St. Michael the Archangel Middle School students and one adult were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Wednesday morning after they began feeling ill, possibly due to a "heat-related issue." The middle school -- on Old Bethlehem Pike in Upper Saucon Township -- was evacuated and classes dismissed for the day. Emergency crews checked to see if gas or carbon monoxide might have been the problem but they found no evidence of a leak in the school or Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Initial concerns of a gas leak were also fueled by the presence of UGI trucks working in the area. Officials now say a "heat-related issue" may be the reason that the students and adult felt lightheaded and nauseous after they went from school into…
