Charles Zebley didn't stop his car when officer activated lights and sirens; he just waved and kept on driving for another 1.6 miles, according to court papers.
A Freemansburg police officer had reason to believe the driver of a green Chrysler convertible was drunk when the car crossed double-yellow center lines and drove up a steep grassy embankment next to a parking lot. Also, the officer later found out the driver had a crushed can of Bud Light in his right shirt pocket, court records say. But instead of pulling over after the officer activated his patrol car’s emergency lights, siren and even air horn, all the driver did was wave at the officer, the records say. The accused, Charles J. Zebley IV, 51, of Monroe County, waved when borough Patrolman Jonathan Itterly activated his car’s emergency lights near Pembroke Road. But neither lights nor siren could stop Zebley, who kept waving. Zebley, …

58-year-old woman charged with running a drug sales operation from her Ramblewood Lane home.
Northampton County Drug Task Force agents found 43 individually wrapped bags of marijuana—along with a number of individually wrapped bags of cocaine and hashish—during a warrant search of a Freemansburg home on Thursday, according to court papers. The home’s owner, 58-year-old Denise D. Brown of 959 Ramblewood Lane is facing multiple drug charges as a result. An affidavit of probable cause did not say what led the Freemansburg Police Department and the drug task force to obtain a search warrant for the home, but the search was conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday. The court papers also indicate that officers found numerous items used for the packing, ingesting and storing of drugs, including zip-lock bags, scales, vacuum sealing machines, …

Man from West Bethlehem is second to be arrested for allegedly running a meth lab borough police stumbled on earlier this month.
A West Bethlehem man has been charged with being an operator of a methamphetamine lab that Freemansburg and Bethlehem Township police inadvertently broke up two weeks ago, according to court papers. Christopher S. Madzarac, 33, of 1257 Stanford Road, was picked up by Freemansburg police early Wednesday and charged with four felony counts for allegedly being involved with the operation of a basement meth lab at 705 Lockhouse Road, according to the arrest affidavit. On March 6, police officers assisting a state constable serving a warrant at that address stumbled onto the alleged methamphetamine-making operation. Police obtained a separate warrant, and with the help of the Pennsylvania State Police Clandestine Team, found a “large quantity” …

16-year-old victim was hospitalized, police say. 53-year-old suspect jailed under $75,000 bail.
A 53-year-old Freemansburg man has been charged with raping a 16-year-old girl last month. Court records say Gregory Lee Johnson is facing charges of rape-forcible compulsion, sexual assault, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children and indecent assault. The alleged incident occurred around 9pm Dec. 8, a Saturday, the records say. A criminal complaint filed by borough Patrolman Tim Schoenenberger also says: An arrest warrant for Johnson was approved Dec. 10 by District Judge Joseph Barner of Lower Nazareth Township. Johnson was taken into custody Tuesday. The complaint does not explain the time gap. He was arraigned at 9 Tuesday night by on-duty District Judge Todd Strohe of Bangor and committed to Northampton County …

Friend of cop-killer George Hitcho leads police on high-speed chase from Freemansburg to South Whitehall, according to court records.
About a year after Officer Robert Lasso was killed in Freemansburg, Todd Schaedel, a friend of the killer who was charged with obstructing police the night of the shooting, was back on the block where it happened. And in a chilling similarity to Lasso’s shooting death on Aug. 11, 2011, Wednesday night’s events began with a call about a disturbance. Schaedel told police he was visiting a friend. They later discovered he was in some kind of vehicle crash. But the incident didn’t end there. Schaedel, 45, who police say was drunk, led them on a high-speed chase. Driving a pickup with a flat tire, he went through Freemansburg, eventually onto Interstate 78 and ended up at 4228 Briarcliff Road, South Whitehall Township, where he lives. He was …
