At First Friday: A Tribute to Mr. Imagination

World-famous artist who lived in Bethlehem for 7 years died in May. Tonight, his Lehigh Valley friends pay tribute to Mr. Imagination on the SouthSide streets where he once lived and worked.

  The monthly celebration of arts and culture that is First Friday in South Bethlehem will take on a bit of a different tone tonight as no doubt many will take much of the evening to reflect on the life of Mr. Imagination, a world renowned intuitive artist who lived in Bethlehem for seven of his too short 64 years on earth. Gregory Warmack, who was better known to his friends and fans in the Lehigh Valley as Mr. I, died in an Atlanta hospital in May. Tonight, Mr. I’s Lehigh Valley family will pay tribute to the artist in what is being called a “Procession of Remembrance” through the streets of South Bethlehem where the artist’s presence is still felt in fanciful creations that dot the neighborhood. South Bethlehem will be Cooking on First Friday

The arts -- culinary, visual, musical ... and pugilistic -- will all be on display tonight in the SouthSide for First Friday.

  The SouthSide will be cooking tonight. The “Master of the Grill” is the theme of this month’s First Friday, the monthly celebration of arts and culture in the SouthSide Shopping and Arts District. Wrap’d Tight will be out grilling on its patio off of S. New Street while local musicians entertain. Over at Looper’s Grille & Bar, they’ll be trying out some new rib sauce flavors in preparation for Rib Fest in July. They’ll also be serving up fresh corn, grilled pound cake with chipotle chocolate sauce and grilled pineapple mojitos. Get Wild in SouthSide for First Friday

"Born to be Wild," is the theme of South Bethlehem's monthly arts, music and shopping party.

  South Bethlehem’s monthly First Friday tonight bows to this weekend’s “Ride for Life” motorcycle event for Muscular Dystrophy that will be riding through the neighborhood’s streets Saturday. The theme: “Born to be Wild.” Get a temporary tattoo and hear Bethlehem singer/songwriter Dina Hall at Cleo’s Silversmith, 21 E. Third St. The Comfort Suites, 120 W. Third St., will have something called a “Blue Motorcycle” drink special. There will also be hot BBQ samples, local artists displaying their wares and karaoke with Dave Loehr starting at 8 p.m. Godfrey Daniels, 7 E. SouthSide Says 'Bring on Spring' for First Friday

Sample vodka, music and art tonight during the monthly Friday night party in South Bethlehem.

  Bring on Spring is the theme of April’s First Friday, which will be celebrated tonight in South Bethlehem in many of the businesses along Second, Third and Fourth streets and the cross streets in between. For happy hour, check out Looper’s Grille & Bar, which will be hosting Pucker Vodka tastings from 6 to 8 p.m. The Comfort Suites is hosting a “Maison Blanc Spring Open House,” which will allow visitors to wander through the hotel and take a look at the overnight rooms and ballroom space. It's, Like, 'Totally 80s' First Friday in SouthSide

Break out the parachute pants and the Swatch watch, the 80s return to South Bethlehem.

  It’s time to break out the parachute pants, leg warmers and neon-colored oversized shirts. The 80s are making a comeback tonight in South Bethlehem. The theme for First Friday is “Totally 80s,” and establishments on Third and Fourth streets will be remembering the decade of teased hair, Swatch watches and Members Only jackets in a number of ways. Nowhere is this more the case than at the Youniversity of Arts and Music, where vocal instructor Corinne Grosser will be teaching the fine art of karaoke singing, with 80s music as the theme. Prizes will be offered to people who come dressed up in the best 80s outfits.
