Man Pushed, Choked Live-In Girlfriend, Police Say

Lehigh University campus resident charged with aggravated assault.

  A Bethlehem man is accused of choking his live-in girlfriend and the mother of his child during an argument at their Lehigh University apartment on Monday night, police said. Irvin Ariel Cerrato-Jimenez, 22, who lived on Duh Drive in the Saucon Village Apartments at the Mountaintop Campus, was arrested by Lehigh University police on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. According to court papers, Cerrato-Jimenez pushed his girlfriend to the ground, while she was holding their 8-month-old infant. He then choked her with both hands and a forearm, police said. Cerrato-Jimenez was arraigned before night duty District Judge David Tidd of Lower Saucon Township and committed to Northampton …

Godmother Choice Argument Boils Over, Police Say

Father of child is accused of choking his baby's mother and hitting his stepfather, according to court papers.

A woman and a Bethlehem man recently had a baby, but they were arguing Monday night about who would be the baby’s godmother. Police say the argument boiled over to the point where the man choked the mother of his child and hit his stepfather in the face. The suspect, Nakhiem Namar Battle, 24, told police he had taken prescription medication and “does not know why he acted the way he did.” His alleged actions landed him in Northampton County Prison. City Officer Samuel Elias writes in a criminal complaint that he responded around 8pm to Battle’s address, 742 E. Stalled Car Leads to Domestic Violence Arrest

Allentown man accused of beating and holding his girlfriend against her will. Bethlehem police caught him when his car ran out of gas on Stefko Boulevard.

  An Allentown man who is accused of holding a Bethlehem Township woman against her will was caught with his victim when his car ran out of gas on Stefko Boulevard early Friday, according to court papers. Nelson Rios Jr., 29, of 345 N. Fourth St., was allegedly physically and mentally abusive to his victim, his girlfriend, who told Bethlehem police that she tried to get away from him on several occasions. Police became involved at 4:19 a.m. when Officer James Hoffman spotted a silver Honda Accord parked in the road on the 1100 block of Stefko Boulevard. Police: SouthSide Man Threw Girlfriend Down Stairs

18-year-old man allegedly punched girlfriend several times before throwing her down the stairs, Bethlehem police say.

  An 18-year-old South Bethlehem man is accused of throwing his live-in girlfriend down a flight of stairs on Thursday morning, according to court papers. Kaneef Dennis “is no longer welcome” at 414 Broadway, which had been his home address prior to the alleged domestic assault there, according to the arrest affidavit. He now resides at Northampton County Prison after he was unable to post $75,000 bail. According to the arrest affidavit: Dennis was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment. He was arraigned before District Judge Nancy Matos-Gonzalez.

Police: Spruce Street Man Choked Girlfriend

Bethlehem Police charge suspect with aggravated domestic assault following early Thursday morning incident.

  A Bethlehem man is accused of squeezing his live-in girlfriend’s throat until her windpipe closed and biting her in the face early Thursday morning at their Spruce Street apartment, according to court records. Eugenio Hernandez-Andino, 41, of 50 W. Spruce St., allegedly attacked his girlfriend after arriving at their home at 4 a.m., the arrest warrant says. She managed to escape, but Hernandez-Andino took possession of her cell phone. The victim then went to Bethlehem Police headquarters at City Hall to report the attack, court records say. Police: SouthSide Man Beat Girlfriend, Friend

Police say drunken Fiot Street man broke into W. Fourth Street home, assaulted his girlfriend, her friend and later resisted arrest.

  A man suspected of being drunk broke the door to get into the SouthSide home of his “domestic partner,” assaulted her and another woman, then resisted arrest when police tried to take him into custody, court records say. Jose Angel Ortiz-Benabe, 28, is accused in the incident early Wednesday on the 300 block of W. Fourth St. According to a criminal complaint filed by city Officer William P. Audelo: Ortiz-Benabe, of 808 Fiot St., Bethlehem, was charged with two counts of simple assault and one count each of resisting arrest or enforcement, criminal mischief/intentional damage and public drunkenness. Woman Charged with Trying to Hit Ex with Car

Arrest affidavit describes wild scene in which West Side woman allegedly chased ex-boyfriend's pickup truck through city streets, ramming it several times with her Buick Regal.

  A West Bethlehem woman will be spending at least part of her holiday season in jail after she was arrested Friday for allegedly trying to run down her ex-boyfriend with her car, according to court papers. Christine M. Fondl, 50, of 2024 Vista Drive, allegedly made the assault on ex-boyfriend John Zettlemoyer on the 400 block of E. North Street on Aug. 7. It was unclear from the court records why she was not arrested until Friday. The affidavit of probable cause describes a wild scene during which Fondl chased Zettlemoyer through the streets of the city on that August morning, several times ramming the back of his Toyota Tundra pickup truck with her red Buick Regal. Police: 10-Inch Knife Used in Domestic Assault

SouthSide woman came after her boyfriend with a 10-inch knife, according to arrest record. She is charged with aggravated assault.

  After having a “verbal dispute” with his girlfriend Sunday afternoon, a Bethlehem man went into a bedroom and locked the door behind him. He and the woman had been living in this room – on the third floor of a SouthSide residence – for the past six months. What happened next led to charges against the woman, Yania Rivera-Ortiz, 28, of the 400 block of Pierce Street. The man told police he was packing his things in the Pierce Street room when Rivera-Ortiz managed to open the door. She was holding a 10-inch-long knife. He said he thought she was going to stab him, so he grabbed the knife with his left hand. He suffered a small but deep cut to his left ring finger when she pulled the knife through his hand. South Bethlehem woman visited ex with their daughter and wanted sex, but she trashed his room and lunged at him with a kitchen knife when he refused, police say.

  A South Bethlehem woman is accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend – and the father of her 2-year-old daughter – with a kitchen knife after he refused to have sex with her Sunday morning, according to court papers. The suspect, Veronica Morales, 23, of 606 Hayes St., went to police with her story first, claiming that her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her when she brought the toddler to his home for him to watch, the affidavit says. But Bethlehem police sussed out a different story when they interviewed the boyfriend – Deion Serna – and a next-door neighbor who told police he had heard what happened.
