Alleged Dog Rapist's Preliminary Hearing Postponed

Defense attorney says further investigation is needed into alleged rape of Shih Tzu at Allentown home in October.

  A Bethlehem man accused of raping a dog in October had his preliminary hearing continued Tuesday by mutual agreement of the prosecution and the defense, according to the presiding district judge. Jim Burke, the attorney for defendant Juan Sanabria-Hernandez, said he hopes that further investigation will reveal more facts in the case. The hearing has been rescheduled for Feb. 11, according to the online court summary. Sanabria-Hernandez, 26, allegedly raped a female Shih Tzu at the Allentown home of the dog’s owner, Angela Rivera, on Oct. 19. Man Charged with Raping Dog

Police say a Bethlehem man raped a Shih-Tzu at a home in Allentown.

A Bethlehem man has been charged with having sexual intercourse with an animal and cruelty to animals after he allegedly raped a dog in Allentown on Friday, according to court records. Police say Juan Sanabria-Hernandez, 26, sexually assaulted a Shih-Tzu at the home of the dog's owner, Angela Rivera, who later noticed that the dog was hurt and acting unusual, according to a Lehigh Valley Live report. Sanabria-Hernandez is free on bail awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 29. The case may sound appalling but it's not unheard of:
