An eastern Pennsylvania theater is one of 11 nationwide locations chosen for advance screening on January 9.
Fox broadcasting has chosen 11 locations across the country to hold advance screenings of the first episode of "American Idol's" 12th season. The AMC Plymouth movie theater was chosen as the host for the Philadelphia region, and will be opening its doors Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. Fans are invited to the free event to watch the first episode, a week ahead of its network debut, and participate in a virtual Q&A with the show's judges following the premiere. Doors open at 6 p.m., but attendees are asked to RSVP by visiting www.idolrsvp.com. Events are also being held in cities such as New York, Boston, and Chicago, and judges Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban will answer questions from Los Angeles. Crystal Bowersox of American Idol fame will be the headliner at a Sept. 10 Stabler Arena concert that will also be a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, according to a news release issued today. Bowersox, who was the runner-up during Idol’s ninth season last year, revealed that she had the disease after she had to be hospitalized during the competition, which forced a change in scheduling on the show. The concert will be preceded by a free outdoor festival outside of Stabler Arena that will feature a number of local bands, according to the release.
