An exhibit of fashions from the Roaring 20s at the Allentown Art Museum ends Sunday.
The Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley is offering two special exhibitions that allow visitors to experience the colorful styles of the 1920s along with exotic, tropical scenes from the heart of the Caribbean. A collection of colorful Haitian art from the Rodale family is on display at the Allentown Art Museum
The Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley is offering an antidote to the winter doldrums with two new special exhibitions that allow visitors to experience the colorful styles of the 1920s along with exotic, tropical scenes from the heart of the Caribbean. Fabulous Flappers: Fashion from the Ellie Laubner Collection and Haitian Art from the Rodale Family Collection will run from Sunday, February 3 through April 14, 2013, with a festive Opening Party planned for Saturday, February 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., complete with Roaring 20’s themed food, music, and dress-up. A traveling exhibit of artwork by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec will open at the Allentown Art Museum on June 2
Allentown, PA—The Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley will be one of the first venues outside of Europe to host Toulouse-Lautrec and His World, during the summer of 2013. This traveling exhibition is on loan from the collection of the Heraklaidon Museum in Athens, Greece, and focuses on the art and life of one of the most fascinating artists and personalities of the Belle Époque (Beautiful Era) in France, which dates from the late 19th century through World War I. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec lived in Paris during this colorful time of cabarets and cafés, and he captured its famous singers, actors, and other characters in his highly celebrated posters, prints, caricatures, sketches, and paintings.
