SouthSide woman came after her boyfriend with a 10-inch knife, according to arrest record. She is charged with aggravated assault.
After having a “verbal dispute” with his girlfriend Sunday afternoon, a Bethlehem man went into a bedroom and locked the door behind him. He and the woman had been living in this room – on the third floor of a SouthSide residence – for the past six months. What happened next led to charges against the woman, Yania Rivera-Ortiz, 28, of the 400 block of Pierce Street. The man told police he was packing his things in the Pierce Street room when Rivera-Ortiz managed to open the door. She was holding a 10-inch-long knife. Victim who had bloodied, bruised face told police he was attacked by four men at Broad Street house party Saturday night.
A South Bethlehem teenager is accused of participating in a savage group beating and robbery of another during a house party in the historic downtown on Saturday night, according to court records. Benjamin Ragsdale, 19, of 629 William St., allegedly started a fight with Brian Lichtenwalner that put in Lichtenwalner in the emergency room at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill. The victim suffered numerous injuries, including a bloody nose and mouth, the arrest affidavit says. A South Bethlehem woman is accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend – and the father of her 2-year-old daughter – with a kitchen knife after he refused to have sex with her Sunday morning, according to court papers. The suspect, Veronica Morales, 23, of 606 Hayes St., went to police with her story first, claiming that her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her when she brought the toddler to his home for him to watch, the affidavit says. One man from Allentown allegedly wielded a piece of wood while two accomplices from Bethlehem punched and kicked victim during Mechanic Street beating, court papers say.
Surveillance cameras on Bethlehem’s SouthSide captured a fight around 4am Sunday in which three men – one brandishing a piece of wood – repeatedly assaulted the same man until he was knocked unconscious, court records say. Police identified Joshua Garcia, 24, of Allentown as the man with the wood. He was charged along with Gustavo Rivera, 25, and Johnathon Rivera, 23, both of Bethlehem. The fight broke out in the midst of 15 people on the 1000 block of Mechanic Street. The records do not say what triggered the fight. South Bethlehem woman with sunburned bottom stabbed her boyfriend twice after he smacked her butt "as a joke," according to court records.
Michael Martinez says he knew that his girlfriend had sunburn on her derriere, but “as a joke” he went ahead and slapped her on the posterior as she washed the dishes Monday night. Her reaction? ”She became immediately agitated” and turned around holding a large steak knife, Martinez told Bethlehem police. Suspect accused of ramming car after girlfriend told him relationship was over, police say.
A SouthSide man is accused of intentionally ramming his car into a parked vehicle occupied by an infant and a young child – one of them his son. The children apparently were not hurt, although court records do not say either way. In the Wednesday morning incident, the suspect, Randall Jones, 30, also is accused of dragging his girlfriend – the mother of the two children – by the hair down a street and striking a vehicle and sideswiping the woman’s vehicle as he sped through the neighborhood. A Bethlehem man who is accused of biting off the lower left ear of his ex-girlfriend during an early morning assault today, city police said. During the course of the assault, David Bermudez, 34, of Bethlehem, allegedly grabbed his ex-girlfriend by the face and then bit her, according to the Bethlehem Police Blog. The lower left ear of the victim has not been recovered and she is being treated for her injuries at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill. Bermudez is wanted on charges of aggravated assault, robbery, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, theft and receiving stolen property. A man choked his fiancée Sunday night, causing her to pass out and drop to the ground in the middle of a SouthSide street, court records say. The woman told police that she and her fiancé, Angelo Antonio Villamil Jr., 30, of 831 Cherokee St., Fountain Hill, had an argument around 9:30pm while at her grandmother’s house on the 900 block of Mechanic Street. She left the house and while walking on the 300 block of Perry Street, Villamil came up behind her and got her into a choke hold. He squeezed her neck so that she passed out for 10 to 15 seconds, falling into the middle of Perry Street, the records say. Suspect smashed car rear windshield, then attacked an exiting male passenger with a metal pole, police said.
A SouthSide man admitted that he smashed the rear window of a car Tuesday afternoon, sending shattered glass onto children in the back seat, then hit a man on the back of the head with a metal pole when the man got out of the car, court records say. The man who was hit and a woman who drove the car told police about the alleged actions of the suspect, Edgar Correa, who turns 31 Thursday. The incident happened on the block where Correa lives – the 700 block of E. Morton Street. City man charged with brutal beating and robbery near victim's home on E. Morton Street.
A Bethlehem man accused of severely beating and robbing another city man was apprehended late Tuesday night and sent to Northampton County Prison on a number of felony charges, according to court records. Cassady Ryan Condash, 29, who’s last known address was 1416 E.
