7-Eleven Clerk Charged with Stealing Lottery Tickets

Police say Stacy Ann Hinkle of Whitehall stole more than $3,000 in scratch-offs and cash.

  A clerk at a 7-Eleven convenience store on Linden Street was charged with felony theft for allegedly scheming to steal more than $3,000 in Pennsylvania instant lottery tickets and cash, according to court records. Stacy Ann Hinkle, 27, of 638 Jordan Circle, Whitehall Township, would allegedly remove a carton of cigarettes from a store display rack, scan it into the store register as a refund, place the cigarettes back in the display, then remove the value of the “refund” in lottery tickets, according the arrest affidavit. Store surveillance video revealed the details of the scheme to law enforcement officials, the court records say. Hinkle allegedly committed the thefts between January 8 and February 9. Armed Robber Visits 7-Eleven

He brandishes gun, but makes off with only a $20 bill.

A convenience store clerk was held up at gunpoint early this morning, but the robber made off with just a $20 bill, Bethlehem police said. The stickup took place at the 7-Eleven at 101 E. Broad St. at about 4 a.m. this morning, according to the city’s daily incident report release.
