If it was worth doing private business would be installing them, when government installs thingsRead More like this it is a feel good thing that a select few will use and will cost the taxpayers more then the end user. The turnpike is already operating in the RED and once again they waste more money they do not have. If private business operates this way they quickly go belly up, time to tell the goverment to go belly up, they are already too far in the RED and I'm sick of hearing them waste more of my money!!!

this poor kid is toast ... not even Miss America can save him. How much you want to bet the DistrictRead More throws the book at him HARD? How dare he not do what he was told. Big lesson here for us all: shhhh ... be still.

York's requirements for school officials must include IQs, common sense, and decency, onlyRead More acceptable if below idiot level. So the kid asked Miss America. Big friggin' deal. So what? Punish him for that? What a bunch of pharisaic jerks apparently run York's school system.

I don't think the act of what the kid did was a big deal at all. After all, kids will be kids, andRead More this seems like typical teen behavior these days. The issue is not whether or not it was harmless, but that the kid was told not to do it by the school, and did it anyway. It's interesting that we have reached a point in culture where everyone wants their autonomy with a disregard for authority, which is sentiment of so many of the comments. The kid was fully aware that his actions would get him in trouble, and chose to do it anyway. Therefore consequences were necessary, not for the action, but for the, "so what" attitude. High School is a world all its own of non-realities. Reality check - in a couple years when you hold a job, the same disregard gets you fired. We have reached a place where high school behavior reaches all the way into the mid-twenties, and we have produced a culture of entitled, juvenile "kidults," as I like to call them.

Miss Davuluri was giving a serious presentation about STEM and the school administrators wereRead More attempting to keep the Q&A session on topic in order for the students to get the most from the session. He was warned to not pose the question and did it anyways. the suspension is a good lesson for him to learn before he reaches adulthood. He could have chosen to ask her after the Q&A session completed instead.

John Child April 15, 2014 at 08:41 am
What's worse? Throwing away the winning ticket? or everybody KNOWING that I threw away the winningRead More ticket? Reminds me of the dumb joke about the old man who went to church every day to pray to win the lottery... after years of constant prayer day in and day out finally a voice came from out of the sky commanding him: "You Gotta Buy A Ticket!!" Or in this case the punch line would be: "Don't Throw Away The Ticket!!"

It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

Its amazing how many young people text when they really have so little to nothing to actually say!Read More And ironically in spite of all the texts and sexts and pic sharing, teens today are more anti-social than really at any time in society. They will bury their faces in their phones to exchange 'heys' with people across town or thousands of miles away yet totally intentionally ignore all living breathing human beings sitting/standing next to them.. Such a lost generation and most haven't even hit legal drinking age.

some of us paid attention in science class and were taught what a red moon , eclipse, etc are.Read More guess most of our new writers of the media, in general, are outcome based education grads, aka (common core). But to understand what signs from the heavens are showing with eyes open? Simply use this box and discover that very few happen and when they do events around the world will and have occured. i.e. Israels short war with Egypt, the founding of Israel, and some other very interesting historical events. but , alas, the outcome based education crowd will never fiqure this or any event from above out.

genesko, my heart goes out to you. I've done most of this on my own. Until someone actually has aRead More child with a disability, they will never truly understand. I can respect that. Had my son not had the stroke, and the severity of the Autism did not subside, I don't know how I would of made it. CHOP Neurological never could explain how the severity subsided. Just Luck. A trade off if you will. My Son drives, yes, but sometimes his emotions overwhelm him. He has learned how to recognize that, and he knows to call me first. But the Joys are great. He can read other's clues for social interaction, and he is always improving there. But again, a lot of work at home was required. I know depending on the severity of the situation, it may never improve. Regarding the group homes, you are right. 20 year waiting list. I'm reminded of my Late Dad's best friend who's oldest son is Autistic. He is now about 57, living in a home. He was lucky. His parents were very upper middle class. They were able to afford what was needed and was able to see to it. Unfortunately today, many of us cannot earn the incomes of our parents with the health benefits that they had. The best advice I can give you, which I am certain that you know, is to keep your children close. Raise them to appreciate and love each other. So as we go to the great beyond, we may hope our disabled children will still be loved and looked after by their siblings. A burden their brother's and sisters never asked for. But a love and appreciation of life and for life, that perhaps most in our country today seem to lack.

Now Read This: ...the Louisiana Senate race will be a test of the old proposition that elections areRead More won by bringing home the bacon, and Landrieu has always argued that she "delivers" In the coming campaign she'll cite the millions and millions of federal dollars she has brought to the state like it's no accident that St. Tammany Parish is feeling a lot of Landrieu love these days. "The St. Tammany Parish school district is getting $67.8 million in disaster loans and accumulated interest for Hurricane Katrina forgiven by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Sen. Mary Landrieu's office announced Monday. The announcement follows FEMA's earlier decision to cancel a $9.9 million loan for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office and a $14.5 million loan to the St. Tammany Parish government." Landrieu, it turns out, inserted a loan forgiveness provision into the 2013 Homeland Security Appropriations bill -- a move that will likely mean future forgiveness for even more Katrina loans. Remember her when you get your flood insurance bill to pay for all those forgiven Katrina loans...
