St John's is a Windish Lutheran Church, which is to say that it was originally established by the Hungarian community which had settle in Bethlehem's south side around the turn of the 20th century. St. John's offers Sunday worship services in the Evangelical Lutheran tradition, youth programs, study groups, Sunday school, and church and community events as well as being the home of the Windish Sick and Injured Association which is a non-profit insurance group to aid the needy in recovery.
