The very fact that it is Election Day has a ripple effect on the events of the week.

For example, Bethlehem Area Public Schools are closed on Tuesday, with one exception: Farmersville Elementary School will be open that day—a makeup for starting the school year a week late.

Also, Bethlehem City Council, which normally meets the first Tuesday of the month, will meet on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Town Hall instead. The agenda was not yet publicly available.

Here are a few more things going on this week:

  • The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts will host an exhibit, titled In the Moment by famed photographer Larry Fink, as part of the Olympus Invision Photo Festival.  The exhibit will open Thursday through Reception and Talk-Back with Larry Fink from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Fowler Art Gallery on the school campus, located at 675 E. Broad St.
  • Kevin James, The King of Queens himself, will bring his standup comedy act to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center at 8 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are from $49.50 to $79.50.
