Fourth of July What's Open, What's Closed

On the Fourth of July, if state, local or federal government runs it, it's closed—with one exception: Swimming pools.

Thursday is the Fourth of July, Independence Day, the day of our country's birth. This July 4 will mark the 237th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia.

The Fourth of July is a federal, state and local holiday. If it is run by or affiliated with federal, state or local government, it is almost certainly closed.

The only exception to that are municipal swimming pools. In Bethlehem, all six of the city's pools will be open.
