Brain Tumor Won't Keep Sheryl Crow From Musikfest

Nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow has benign brain tumor, but that should not affect her scheduled Musikfest appearance on Aug. 10.

Nine-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow made news this week when she told the Las Vegas Review Journal that she has a benign brain tumor.

But that should have no impact on her scheduled appearance at Musikfest on August 10, according to an ArtsQuest spokesman who talked to The Express Times.

"The show is on as scheduled and we're excited because she's a great performer, and obviously a very courageous one as well,” said Mark Demko, the ArtsQuest spokesman.

Crow, 50, fought off breast cancer in 2006. In 2001, Crow canceled a scheduled Musikfest appearance because of another health issue.

In her interview with the Review Journal, Crow said she had a brain MRI because she became concerned with memory problems. She recounted several occasions where she had forgotten the lyrics to her own songs on stage.

“And I found out I have a brain tumor," Crow said. "And I was, like, 'See? I knew there was something wrong.' "

Tickets for Sheryl Crow at Musikfest are on sale for $30 and $40 and are available at www.musikfest.org, 610-332-3378 or at the box office.
