Bonus Reason: During WWII the Steelers and Eagles merged, the Steagles, due to a shortage of available men to play. So, in an alternate universe, rooting for the Steelers is really like rooting for the Eagles.

The Steelers are one of the favorite teams among football fans in Bethlehem and the Lehigh Valley. It might be the desire to root for a team from the same state or the shared connection to the steel industry in Pittsburgh and Bethlehem. There is also a fair amount of Pittsburgh transplants living in this area.
