Liberty High School's Jodi Chickey nailed a jump shot as time ran out to give the Lady Hurricanes a 33-31 victory over crosstown rival Freedom in the front end of a varsity doubleheader at Freedom High School Friday night.

The shot vaulted the Liberty into the District XI playoffs and left the Lady Patriots winless in Lehigh Valley Conference play this season. Freedom girls are 1-20 overall, while Liberty is 6-8 in the conference and 11-11 overall.

Freedom's Amanda Murphy's lone basket with about 30 seconds left in the game knotted the score at 31-31. Chickey and Freedom's Gabbi Garza led all scorers with 14 points each.
