Lehigh Going to NCAA Tournament

Patriot League championship sealed with 82-77 win over Bucknell; Mountain Hawks get automatic bid to the Big Dance.

 

The men’s basketball team is on its way to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years and the fifth time in history following its 82-77 Patriot League championship game victory over the Bucknell Bisons.

Gabe Knutson blocked a shot with four seconds left and C.J. McCollum and Jordan Hamilton each hit two free throws in those final seconds to seal the Mountain Hawks victory, according to stories in The Morning Call and The Express Times.

McCollum, a junior guard who finished the game with 29 points, was the tournament Most Valuable Player.

Lehigh must now wait until Sunday night to find out where it will be seeded in the field of 65 for March Madness.
