Last-Minute Defensive Stand Clinches Liberty Win

Hurricanes hold State College scoreless in second half and win season opener 14-10.

Linebacker Cameron Brusko batted away a fourth down pass with 40 seconds left in the game to seal a 14-10 win for Liberty High School over State College in its opening game Saturday night, according to The Morning Call.

The defensive stand at the Hurricane 11-yard line capped a second half in which Liberty allowed the Little Lions no points and only 102 yards of offense, the newspaper reported. The win at BASD Stadium was the first in the career of new Liberty Head Coach John Truby.

The Hurricanes open their Lehigh Valley Conference schedule Friday night at home against Whitehall.
