Fight Night at SteelStacks II to Feature Roy Jones Jr.

Former boxing champion to take pictures and sign autographs with fans at second boxing event at Musikfest Cafe.

Former boxing champion Roy Jones Jr. is scheduled to appear at the second Fight Night at SteelStacks on Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Musikfest Cafe, ArtsQuest announced on Wednesday.

A seven-fight card that has not yet been finalized will include bouts by Jeffrey Dorsey Holmes and Rashad Bogart, both of Easton, and championship-caliber boxers from Mexico and Puerto Rico, according to a news release.

Holmes, the grandson of former heavyweight champion Larry Holmes, is trying to make his own way in the world of professional boxing. He debuted at the first Fight Night at SteelStacks in June, losing to fellow Eastonian Marquis Prince.

“The first Fight Night at SteelStacks included some very talented local boxers who are working their way up the ranks to becoming top-ranked fighters,” said fight promoter Jay Newman. “It was a memorable and exciting night of sports entertainment that had the audience on edge of its seats from the first bell, so we’re excited to have the opportunity to bring this event back.”

Fans looking for the ultimate Fight Night experience will want to purchase Fight Night VIP tickets, which include the opportunity to meet Jones, the only boxer in history to hold seven belts—the WBC, WBA, IBF, IBO, NABF, WBF and IBA light heavyweight championships—at the same time.
