Schools Will Be In Session Presidents' Day, Holy Thursday

Bethlehem Area School District alters school calendar as snow cancellation days pile up.

The kids may enjoy the snow days when they come, but at some point, you have to pay the piper.

The Bethlehem Area School District announced Wednesday that schools will be open on Feb. 17—Presidents' Day and April 17—Holy Thursday, both of which had originally been scheduled as school holidays.

Bethlehem Area schools were closed this week on Tuesday and Wednesday thanks to the most recent winter storm.

With those two snow days, the district has exceeded the four snow days that were built into the school district’s 2013-14 academic calendar, according to a news release from the district.

If more snow days are needed, the next two days to be added will be Monday, April 21—the day after Easter, and Friday, June 6, the day after the school year was scheduled to end.
