Northampton Community Picks New Vice President

Sherri Jones returns to Northampton where she was once director of alumni affairs.

 

Sherri Jones of Bethlehem has been named vice president for institutional advancement and executive director of the Foundation at . 

Jones worked at Northampton earlier in her career as director of alumni affairs and the annual fund before serving as director of alumni affairs at Lafayette College and senior executive director of alumni affairs and communications at Columbia College in New York City.

As a member of the senior staff at Northampton, her responsibilities will include overseeing fund raising, alumni relations, marketing, communications, special events and some auxiliary services.

“Sherri was highly regarded during her years at Northampton," said Northampton President Mark Erickson. "Foundation Board members, alumni and her colleagues on the staff are excited, as I am, about her return.  She will make a great addition to the management team.”

A graduate of Cornell University, Jones has studied educational leadership at .

In her new position at Northampton, she succeeds her mentor, Susan Kubik, who retired in June after building one of the most successful community college advancement programs in the country.

“Northampton has always had a special place in my heart. I am thrilled by this opportunity to work with our new president, our volunteers and the staff during the exciting chapter in its history that lies ahead,” Jones said.
