Northampton Community College Chef-in-Residence Brad Barnes will give a cooking demonstration at Lipkin Theatre in Kopecek Hall beginning at 6 p.m. Barnes is the founder of the website Cooking District, formerly Gigachef, a site for cooking news and recipes. The event includes samples and recipes for avocado lobster rolls, coconut rice cakes, crispy shrimp and sambal, barbecue chicken sausage on sugarcane skewers. Barnes is also the author of So You Want to be a Chef?, So You are a Chef, and The American Culinary Federation's Guide to Culinary Certification. Tickets are $10 each and benefit the Hotel, Restaurant and Culinary Arts Endowment Fund at NCC.
