Townhouses Proposed For Adelberger Site

The flower retail store would stay put, according to preliminary plans.

The same developer who is to turn the has begun a new project on a noteworthy but less historic site.

Cas Holloway appeared in front of Radnor Township's Planning Commission on April 2 with a plan to build six new townhouses on the corner of West Wayne Avenue and Conestoga Road. The site is home to the shop.

Main Line Media News reports that the preliminary plan would keep the existing retail store and build two clusters of three townhouses each behind the shop.

The commisison was "hung up" on some details and tabled the plan, according to the article.

James, your quite right. I don't know this real estate developer. Maybe I should get to know him. Maybe we could become friends! Do you think he'd be my friend? That would be so exciting to have a real estate developer for a friend! We could go to dinner at one of the seemingly endless supply of homogenized, gentrified, overpriced and medicore restaurants that use up all the parking spaces on Lancaster Pike and N. Wayne Avenue. Maybe one of the four jewelry stores or the several WaWa stores that have been robbed in Radnor and Wayne in the last month will get robbed again and my new best buddy can intervene to save the day! Judging from your erudite epistle I'm sure you're well aware of the selfless courage and bravery that real estate developers are so famous for! It was heroic real estate developers that led the charges onto the beaches of Normandy on D-Day! As to what I did for a living, that's none of your goddamn business but I sure as hell was no real estate developer making money hand over fist from buying old Main Line estates for a pittance of their actual value then destroying them to make way for countless crap-built McMansions all crammed next to each other. And so what that you have lived here for 20+ years? Big freaking deal. If you want to get into a pissing contest please note that I've been here for 60 years and my family has been here for a century. Good luck and good riddance, greenhorn.

WOW Peter, it seems I've struck a nerve, are your Depends full? How exactly did Normandy and D-Day become a part of this equation? Your self-rightous attack is unfortunate considering I asked you legitimate questions and I did so respectfully. Ignorance is bliss, actually it's what fuels a majority of our society's problems, it occurs to me that you don't know the first thing about real estate developers, what they do, the risk they take or the benefits they bring to a township like Radnor. Keep spewing your fiction and vitriol, I'll continue to enjoy all that Wayne has to offer. BTW, if you are nostalgic for the rural experience of your youth, they still drive horse and buggies in Lancaster, move there.

Smart development that embraces and is harmonious with the community can help communities. Much of the developers/development around here in recent years are simply fueld by greed and is evident in their projects, and does not contribute to "progress." James, better you go home.

Att: James Your last post gave me a good laugh but I wouldn't call you a wit. Just half of one. And I applaud the succinct and eloquent post by "i grew up here you moved here".

Peter, sorry I didn't bust out "erudite epistle" in my response, clearly I didn't score high enough on my SAT's to hang with you in this forum. GREED is a hot-button term that gets thrown around with little consideration for it's implications. BTW, I live in Wayne, it's my home, I love it.
