Rebate Offered for LED Light Strands

Electric utility offers a $3.33 rebate for each string of LED Energy Star-rated decorative lights purchased.

If you bought new LED holiday lights for your home or your tree and you are a First Energy customer, you may be eligible for a surprise gift in the form of a rebate, in addition to the money you'll save on your electric bill.

MetEd, Pennelec and Penn Power customers can receive $3.33 per qualifying Energy Star strand of LED lights they've purchased, up to six strands.

Lights purchased between October 28, 2009 through May 31, 2013 are eligible.

The rebate application must include a valid customer account number, brand, purchase price, and store name, and the lights must be for use at the service address on customer’s account.

For more information about this and other household product rebates, see the First Energy website. Customers may make their rebate application directly online or print the application form and send it in.

Several other money-back offers are available too, including for major appliances, heat pumps and furnaces, to name a few

PP&L customers, while not eligible for the holiday light strand offer, are eligible for a number of other rebates.
