Mayor Repairs Potholes with City Streets Crew

Mayor John Callahan rolled up his sleeves, grabbed a shovel and briefly joined a Bethlehem Streets Bureau crew and helped patch some potholes on Forrest Avenue last week.

No, the mayor hasn’t given up politics to start a new career. He was promoting the city’s 2013 Pothole Hotline.

If you call the hotline—610-865-7053—to report a pothole, you probably won’t see the mayor himself carrying a shovel. However, the pothole should be repaired within 48 hours in most cases, Callahan said.

Calls made on evenings and weekends will be answered by an answering machine.
