March 26 is Last Day to Register to Vote in Primary

Voter registration for Pennsylvania's 2012 primary election closes March 26

Monday, March 26 is the last day to register to vote in Pennsylvania's 2012 primary election. It's also the last day for a voter to change party affiliation before the primary.

The primary - of special interest to GOP voters selecting a presidential candidate - will be held from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24.

GOP presidential candidates listed on the Pennsylvania ballot are:

  • Newt Gingrich
  • Mitt Romney
  • Ron Paul
  • Rick Santorum

Pennsylvania's GOP voters will also choose a candidate to run against incumbent Democrat U.S. Senator Bob Casey in the November general election. The GOP candidates are:

  • David Alan Christian of Bucks County
  • Marc A. Scaringi of Cumberland County
  • Steven D. Welch of Chester County
  • Tom Smith of Armstrong County
  • Sam Rohrer of Berks County

Voter registration offices are open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Lehigh County and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Northampton County.
